I was a member & a volunteer at this church for ten years. My reason for only giving them one star is because my husband and I have experienced a lot of abuse, manipulation & control from the pastor, his wife & some of the leaders there at the time. My husband was sexually harassed by a couple of sisters in that church. We reached out to the pastor many times during the assaults which went on for over a year but Mike completely swept it under the rug & did nothing to solve our matters until I finally confronted them myself. It was only then that the pastor got involved and said something said that I was just trying to cause drama and took it out on my husband like we were the ones that did something wrong. They told us we needed to apologize to that sister for accusing her of harassment. Which by the way we had 2 other witnesses when those incidents happened. The allegations were obviously true. But apparently they were still in denial. During our last few years we were there, I would over hear the pastor talk about his own members and people that have left the church. Sharing their personal business and making assumptions. Gossip. I know this because my husband was the pastors right hand and he would tell my husband everything about everyone. When my husband and I stopped going to fellowships the pastors would talk about us. We have confirmed this by a handful of people. Not only that but the worst thing of all was that this man who preached the word of God behind the pulpit would try to turn my own husband against me. He said that I was getting in the way and coming between my husband and him. He preached against the wife coming in between the husband and the “man of God” in his life. Unfortunately my husband worked full time for the pastor so it wasn’t so easy for my husband to leave and find another job. He was afraid to leave because the pastor would say if you leave the church you would be turning your back on God and that God wouldn’t protect us or bless us anymore if we left his church. I always knew something about that was not right. This review doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of what I’ve been through here. But long story short God started sending people outside of that ministry into myne and my husband’s life to tell us it was time to go. God confirmed it 3 times to leave that church. We finally picked up and left. It was the best decision we ever made and we don’t regret leaving.
